The Smoke Ring has always been a two-way street. This community was built, page by page, from what its members sent in — a new site to add to the loop, a technique worth writing up, a photo essay from a competition weekend, or a note that a member's link had gone stale. Every one of those messages made the neighborhood a little better, and that is still exactly how it works today. There is no wrong reason to get in touch; if it has to do with barbecue and the community around it, we want to hear about it.
What people write to us about
- Joining the ring — you run a barbecue site and want to add it to the neighborhood. Start with our join page, then send us the details.
- Article & story submissions — you have a technique to share or a community cookout to document for our articles or news sections.
- Reporting a problem — you found a broken or off-topic link while browsing the ring. Historically, keeping the loop healthy was the Ringmaster's job, and we still rely on members to flag issues.
- General barbecue questions — we are always happy to point you toward good information.
Send us a message
We read everything that comes in and try to answer thoughtfully, though a friendly reminder: we are pitmasters and volunteers, not a help desk, so give us a little time to get back to you — especially on a weekend when the smokers are running. If your message is about a specific member site, mentioning its name helps us track down the issue faster.
Prefer to explore first? Learn about the Ring, read our how-to guides, browse the barbecue articles, or find out what a smoke ring actually is. However you found your way to the porch, welcome — and thanks for being part of the neighborhood.
